What we do
Recycle
Caring about the environment and supporting people in our community is important to us. We collect and refurbish unwanted bicycles that are donated by individuals and institutions, then give them to
people who are in need of
transportation or have limited accessibility to a healthy activity.

Educate
Knowledge empowers and enables success. Programs are offered to keep you riding safely by teaching bicycle maintenance as well as opportunities to "Earn a Bike" through "Sweat Equity". We also provide assistance to those who access our free or low cost tool library for personal bike repairs.

Community
The Brookhaven Bike Co-op offers a welcoming place for bicycle enthusiasts to gather together. Feel free to come, learn, volunteer or just hang out and play a game of pool. Perhaps if you're feeling crafty you can even turn an old tire into a belt!

OUR STORY
Founded in 2019 and funded by the Ferguson Foundation, the Brookhaven Bike Co-op is a 501(c)3 nonprofit community bike organization. Based on a model that is successful in other parts of the country, the cooperative is a non-political space available to the community that offers free or low cost access to the tools needed for bicycle repairs and promotes health, safety, education and the concept of paying it forward. Made up of environmentally conscious and altruistic like-minded volunteers, our mission is:

"To alleviate transportation struggles and promote
bicycles through Recycling, Education and
Community"
